Tango classes & events in Porto

Porto is Portugal's second-largest scene — smaller than Lisbon, but with a tight community of regulars and a noticeable kizomba contingent (Porto draws Angolan and Cape Verdean diaspora dancing too). The big schools are Jazzy Dance Studios (the chain's Porto branch), Furiosa Dance, and several neighbourhood-level academies; weekly classes run through the week, most clustered in the city centre and Boavista. Social density is lower than Lisbon — fewer events per week — but the welcome is warmer in the way smaller scenes always are.

How does it compare to Lisbon? Smaller, calmer, more local. Lisbon has the international festival pull; Porto is where you go if you want to dance somewhere where everyone knows your name by week two.
